Real want Beckham "for life"

David Beckham has a place at Real Madrid 'for life', according to club president Ramon Calderon.

There has been much speculation surrounding the former England captain's future, with suggestions he could be set for a move to America's MLS.

He has struggled to command a regular starting role since Fabio Capello's arrival at the Bernabeu in the summer, but got a rare 90 minutes in the 2-2 UEFA Champions League draw with Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday.

Despite all the talk over a move, Calderon wants to reward his superstar for the patience and professionalism he has shown this season.

"He is an exceptional player both on and off the field," Calderon told the club's website.

"I believe he should renew his deal for life.

"He has never protested about being substitute and he transmits a special aura of friendship and affection."

Two goals from Ronaldo in the last three minutes at the Olympic Stadium rescued a point for Los Merengues, and Calderon believes the Brazilian striker could be key to the team's European campaign.

"The other day I said to him on the airplane that we need him if we are going to win the European Cup," he added.

"He is a class above, who when fit can be a match-winner."

Real's title challenge has been resurrected under Capello and they are looking for their fifth win in five at Sevilla on Saturday, as they look to dislodge champions Barca from the top of the table.

I really wish him the best...
Going from a club to another is not that easy as people think. Children, language, life itself are not stuff to change every 4 years specially at Becks age! So I do hope these words are correct...
