Beckham ready to sit out clash

David Beckham is set to sit out LA Galaxy’s clash with Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara today in the SuperLiga tournament.

Becks, suffering from an ankle problem, will miss the game which has been moved to the LA Coliseum to cope with an expected 60,000 gate.

Galaxy boss Frank Yallop insists there will be NO risks with their £125million investment.

He said: “David’s a little bit ahead of where he was a couple of days ago but why risk him?

“We want to make sure he’s going to be committed and 100 per cent before he actually plays.”

Becks, 32, has yet to even train with his new team-mates after his cameo sub’s appearance against Chelsea last weekend.

Beckham is, however, expected to be fit and to play in the next matches against Dallas and Toronto.

I agree with Galaxy's management of keeping Becks' safe and healthy... he is too much of an investment to risk getting hurt. We galaxy fans need to just calm down and remember that he will be here for 5 years..... there will be plenty of time to see him at his best.

Ever think about how much David Beckham looks like Dean Martin Jr. They look a lot alike and both handsome!
