Beckham doubtful for United clash

David Beckham remains doubtful to make his MLS debut for Los Angeles Galaxy against DC United on Thursday.

The former Real Madrid ace had been expected to his play in first competitive game for the West Coast outfit after resuming training with his team-mates.

However, Beckham, who has been sidelined with ankle ligament damage, only took part in light training and is unlikely to be risked.

"He did train on Tuesday," confirmed Galaxy spokesman Patrick Donnelly. "He's still doubtful for the game."

Should Beckham miss the RFK Stadium clash then his next chance to make his competitive debut will come against New England Revolution on Sunday.
